Instead of planting a fall garden, let’s embrace more reseeding plants in our gardens! Noel Ruiz will share how he encourages more volunteers, reseeding veggies, herbs and weeds for food, medicine and living mulch all season. Seed sowing and seed saving become easier when we let go of control and embrace more of Mother Earth’s patterns of abundance. Let’s continue taking cues from her so we can garden more naturally. Noel will cover real world examples of embracing natural reseeding and volunteer culture that can work well in most gardens. There will be plenty of time for questions!

Preserving The Harvest: An Introduction

This is the time of year we, as gardeners think of preserving our harvest for the leaner times. Join K.Ruby Blume in her kitchen for an introduction to traditional methods for preserving the harvest. We’ll get an introduction to water bath and pressure canning with a focus on the science behind the techniques that make it safe. Then we’ll touch on freezing, dehydrating and fermenting as alternate methods, each with their pros and cons. Bring your notebook and your burning questions!

💚 In the spirit of sharing, these monthly live mini classes are free! We want to gift knowledge and inspiration to you, in the hopes it will help you on your homesteading path.

💬 This is a two way conversation. After the presentation, you’ll have a chance to get your questions answered by the teacher.

🔄 Replay available. A replay of the live event will be available for one month.
